Anamaria Marinca bio

Anamaria is a Romanian actor. Her first screen appearance was in Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 movie for which she was awarded the British Academy Television Award as the best actress. Fluently speaks French, German and English. Her father, who is a professor of theater at one of Romania's most prestigious theater schools, also a theatre teacher. The Youth Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. She was chosen as a European Shooting Star by the European Film Promotion Board in 2008. She starred in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 weeks si 2 days (4 Months 3 Weeks and 2 Days) produced by Cristian Mungiu, which was awarded the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two other prizes (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI prize). Youth Without Youth by Francis Ford Coppola was a different film where she starred. In 2008, she played Yasim Anwar in the BBC 5-episode miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca had roles in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven as well the Romanian Drama Boogie. In the film Fury (2014) the actress played Irma she was a German woman who was Emma's aunt.
