Fluently speaks French, German and English. Her father, who is a professor of theater at one of Romania's most prestigious theater schools, also a theatre teacher. Youth Without Youth by Francis Ford Coppola was a different film where she starred. In 2008, she played Yasim Anwar in the BBC 5-episode miniseries The Last Enemy. Marinca had roles in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven as well the Romanian Drama Boogie. In the film Fury (2014) the actress played Irma she was a German woman who was Emma's aunt.
